To start collecting data for Transects in the field:
First, make sure a sampling method has been created for your site, and Transects have been placed.
A) You can check for this on your site's overview page
- On your mobile device, select your desired site for the Transect data collection
- Once on your site's page, press the corresponding start button for the Transect you would like to visit
- Using the provided in-app directions, navigate to the start of your Transect in the field
- Make sure the conditions outside are suitable for a Transect record.
- Once you are within 20 ft of your Transect, you can hit the Next button to begin the Transect.
- With your camera open, begin walking the 10-meter transect path. This record should take around 5 minutes, so make sure to take your time and look for any pollinators
- Use the camera to document any pollinators you observe along your transect.
- . Fill out the corresponding information for that observation
- Continue this process and follow along the Transect path from the start point to the end point on the map until you have reached 10 meters.
- Once you have arrived at the end point and finished taking observations along the 10-meter Transect, press the " I'm Finished " button
- On the Transect Visit Overview Page, review the recorded species and add any additional observations.
- Add notes to your Transect record as needed. Once you are finished, press the Complete button.
To record data for this Transect again, scroll to this Transect on your sites page and repeat the process.
